My name is Teyla Emmagan, and I am a leader of my people. I have, I suppose, lost a great deal in my life, but I have gained just as much.
OOC stuff: Teyla is a human female...who happens to have been born in the Pegasus Galaxy. She also contains Wraith DNA (the Wraith being a race of aliens native to Pegasus who survive by feeding on the life force of humans, who they view as livestock), which means she can sense their presence and occasionally communicate telepathically with them. She is relatively small in stature, but she is more than capable of defending herself in a fight. She met up with the Earthlings who have made their home in Atlantis when then-Major Sheppard, his CO and several others came to her home on Athos seeking shelter. Athos was attacked by the Wraith at that time and her people were evacuated to Atlantis. Her people have since moved to a new home, but she has stayed in Atlantis as part of now-Colonel Sheppard's team as she believes they are the best hope for victory against the Wraith.
